Warm Hearts Community Support is a charitable organisation dedicated to supporting disadvantaged individuals, young people and families through community outreach, wellbeing initiatives, digital inclusion and employability support.

Our ongoing programmes include:

• Community Food Support & Outreach: Helping individuals and families experiencing hardship access essential food support and community resources.
• Mental Wellbeing & Community Support: Promoting emotional resilience, social inclusion and community connection through non-clinical group activities.
• IT Upskilling & Back-to-Work Support: Supporting participants to develop digital literacy, confidence, employability skills and access to education or employment opportunities.

About the Volunteer Opportunity

We are seeking compassionate, reliable and community-minded volunteers to support the delivery of our ongoing charitable programmes.

The opportunity involves direct engagement with beneficiaries, supporting group activities and helping individuals develop confidence, practical skills and stronger community connections.

Volunteers will work alongside our existing team, under appropriate supervision, contributing to temporary, defined charitable outreach activities.

Key Volunteering Activities

• Support community outreach events and social inclusion activities for young people, individuals and families experiencing disadvantage.
• Assist with facilitating digital literacy, employability, confidence-building and personal development workshops.
• Engage with participants during community wellbeing sessions, encouraging positive interaction and peer support.
• Provide informal mentoring, practical guidance and encouragement to individuals accessing community programmes.
• Assist with food outreach activities, helping beneficiaries access support in a safe and dignified environment.
• Encourage community participation and signpost individuals to appropriate local services and support organisations.
• Collaborate with programme coordinators and fellow volunteers to support the safe delivery of scheduled charitable activities.
• Follow safeguarding, confidentiality, equality and data protection procedures throughout volunteering activities.

Skills and Qualities

• Good communication, interpersonal and active listening skills.
• Empathy, patience and respect for people from diverse backgrounds.
• An interest in youth development, community wellbeing and social inclusion.
• Basic digital literacy and willingness to support community learning activities.
• An ability to work collaboratively, maintain professional boundaries and follow safeguarding procedures.
• Previous volunteering or community engagement experience is desirable but not essential.

Volunteering Arrangements

• Hours: 20 hours per week, arranged around scheduled community activities.
• Payment: This is an unpaid voluntary opportunity.
• Expenses: Reasonable, eligible volunteering expenses may be reimbursed in accordance with organisational policy.
• Support: Induction, supervision, safeguarding guidance and appropriate programme-specific training will be provided.
• Safeguarding: Appointment is subject to appropriate safeguarding and eligibility checks, including a DBS check where required.
